Золотые ворота

Согласно христианскому преданию, Иисус Христос вошел в Иерусалим через Золотые ворота, обращенные в сторону Елеонской горы и Вифании

Золотые ворота, старейшие ворота Старого города, расположены между Львиными воротами и воротами Хульды в одной из башен восточной стены.

В настоящее время заложены камнем, но арки, обозначающие вход, хорошо видны на стене.

Золотые ворота состояли из двух входов, называемых «ворота покаяния» и  «ворота милосердия». ( Read more... )
