Водолазы подняли из озера Чебаркуль в Челябинской области фрагмент метеорита размером с кулак, сообщает сайт Уральского федерального университета (УрФУ).

"Участники экспедиции "Язь", ориентируясь по карте, составленной учеными Уральского федерального университета, подняли с тринадцатиметровой глубины озера Чебаркуль осколок челябинского метеорита размером с кулак", - говорится в сообщении.

На Дальнем Востоке наблюдали падение небесного тела. Скорее всего этот "метеорит" является второй ступенью ракеты "Зенит", которую с Байконура запустили 20-ю минутами ранее. Длинный белый след, который остался после сгорания небесного тела, снял российский метеорологический спутник "Электро-Л".

Станции слежения CTBTO зафиксировали взрыв челябинского метеорита

Взрыв метеорита над Челябинском был самым мощным за всю историю наблюдений, проводившихся станциями слежения CTBTO. Сеть CTBTO регистрирует инфразвуковые волны, она призвана следить за ядерными испытаниями в мире. Взрыв был зарегистрирован 17 станциями CTBTO. Самая дальняя станция, зарегистрировавшая взрыв, находилась в 15 тыс. км от места взрыва в Антарктиде. Согласно данным CTBTO, взрыв метеорита произошел в 03:22 GMT 15 февраля.

До настоящего времени взрыв болида над Сулавеси в октябре 2009 года был самым мощным событием, зафиксированным сетью CTBTO. Тогда взрыв зарегистрировали 15 станций. Однако взрыв над Челябинском оказался мощнее.

Первая станция CTBTO была открыта в апреле 2001 года в Германии. Сейчас станций, следящих за инфразвуковыми волнами, около 45-ти. Данные со станций отправляются в режиме реального времени в Вену, Австрия, где анализируются.

По словам представителей CTBTO, зарегистрированное 15 февраля событие не было одним единичным взрывом. Это было "горение на скорости больше скорости звука".

За несколько дней до этого 12 февраля сеть CTBTO зарегистрировала необычную сейсмическую активность в КНДР. Магнитуда составила 4.9 балла. Позже власти страны сообщили о проведении ядерных испытаний. Это событие было зарегистрировано 94 сейсмическими станциями и двумя станциями сети CTBTO.

LITCHFIELD, CT (WFSB) -

People in northwestern Connecticut have been buzzing about a mysterious object that was seen falling from the sky Wednesday night.

Police said nothing was found after a Connecticut State Trooper and others reported seeing the large object fall out of the sky in Litchfield.

Someone was driving in Litchfield around 2 a.m. when they reported seeing a green, glowing object the size of a whale fall and crash into Bantam Lake, according to the Waterbury Republican-American.

Around the same time, a state trooper reported seeing the same thing about 10 miles away in Warren.

Emergency officials made several attempts to locate the mysterious object, but nothing was found.

The search was called off shortly thereafter.

Descriptions ranged from simply a blue-green fireball to a yellow fireball with a red center and a trailing blue and white tail. John from North Chicago wrote “12sec nw green/blue very bright unknow it only lasted about 12sec but it was a sight to see truly amazing.” But while many delighted in the display, others thought they’d witnessed something much grimmer as emergency crews responded to 126th Street and Avenue 0 on the Far Southeast Side of the city to investigate a possible plane crash. A police helicopter was also called to help search Wolf Lake, which sits on the Illinois-Indiana border near the Hegewisch neighborhood. Searchers found nothing, and authorities soon found that while no aircraft had been reported missing, many skywatchers were reporting a “very bright” meteor falling about 8:20 p.m. and crews stopped their search, according to Fire Media Affairs. No one from NASA or the National Weather Service could immediately be reached for comment.
