Tornado hits Queensland bringing hail the size of tennis balls
I saw two mother with child weather images in the news yesterday which were quite contrasting images indeed and does make you think what kind of world are mothers and fathers bringing their kids into in the coming decades ahead ... well, hopefully ahead that is.
Not that there ever was or will be a good time to bring a child into this world, that is.
Such is life, as they say.
And were Channel 9 just trying to promote the fact that they got the Australian Open Tennis coverage off rivals Channel 7 by referring to hail the size of tennis balls all the time?
Usually we hear about hail the size of golf or cricket balls.
Balls that you really wouldn't want to be hit with.
Channel Nine secures 2019 Australian Open broadcast rights
Throw tennis balls at me any day over golf or cricket balls.
Maybe Chris Knowles at 'The Secret Sun' blog has a strong case in his recent posts -

Deuce?
Score of 40–40 in a game. A player must win two consecutive points from a deuce to win the game, unless the tournament employs deciding points, as in the 2010 ATP World Tour Finals. A player who has won one point after deuce is said to have the advantage.

And if all of this sounds totally nuts to you, here is another piece of synch trivia, Kingaroy where Fiona Simpson was pelted with hail just happens to be the heart of Queensland's peanut growing industry.
"Traditionally, Kingaroy has always been the centre of Australia's peanut and navy bean industries but since the early 1990s it has also developed into one of the twin hubs of the South Burnett's rapidly expanding wine industry (the other hub is at Murgon, Redgate and Moffatdale, 55 kilometres (34 mi) to the north).
Several wineries are located either in or very close to the town, along with the Booie Range Distillery which opened in 2001 — only the third distillery in Queensland."
