How to Enable 3D cube desktop effects in Ubuntu 10.04 Working in Ubuntu 10.04 gives me the GUI feel as if I am working on MAC Systems. Have you ever tried the 3D desktop effect in Ubuntu. Its awesome and I go speechless with other desktop feel it gives up.

To enable 3D desktop effects you require no basic knowledge of LINUX core. Just go through following steps
1.) Goto SYSYEM and then ADMINISTRATION
2. )In administration open SYNAPTIC PACKAGE MANAGER.
3. ) Type COMPIZ in the quick search Box.
4.) You will see the results loaded down.

5. Go through this image and be sure each button is ticked as shown in this 
screenshot.


 
Once you are over with ticking. Click APPLY.

Once you are over woth above steps and installation. You can now see the COMPIZ CONFIG MANAGER in SYSTEM-PREFERENCES menu bar.
Following are some screeshots from COMPIZ CONFIG MANAGER.



The final resultant 3d-cube effect in Ubuntu 10.04 will be similar to as shown above in first image. Enjoy the feel of 3d in Ubuntu now.

After enabling the 3d desktop effect, you need to press CONTROL + ALT key, and roll over your mouse as if 3d desktop is in your hand. Make updward, downward and side movements with mouse and see the difference now..
