US street named after Azerbaijan

A street in Houston, Texas, has been named Azerbaijan Street, the first street in the USA to be named in honour of the South Caucasus country.

The new Azerbaijan Street is the largest street in Houston's Turquoise Center, APA’s Washington DC correspondent reports.

The street was named by AACA (the Azerbaijani American Cultural Alliance) with the support of the TCAE (Turquoise Council of Americans and Eurasians).

Azeri diaspora members said they would continue their efforts to raise awareness of Azerbaijan in the US.
